About Constance DRESCHER
I was born in Rotterdam, the Netherlands and, after having spent the first part of my life there, I lived in England, France, Mexico and the United States. I have been drawing since I first could hold a pencil and creating art has been a compulsion ever since. Though I am self-taught, I have taken many painting courses over the years, mainly in order to learn the use of different media. I have studied pastel with Roz Hollander, PSA, for nine years. My favorite medium is colored pencils, but I also use watercolor, acrylic and pastel. I usually wind up mixing my media to achieve the results I want. My paintings are considered realistic, hence my preference for colored pencils with which the finest details can be rendered.
I have won quite a few awards over the years and my paintings are hanging on walls here in the U.S.A., in Mexico, The Netherlands and Germany. I have had the good fortune of travelling extensively and, therefore, I have had the opportunity to take photographs of many beautiful buildings, landscapes, people, animals and other subjects. I use these photographs as a basis for my paintings.
I hope you will enjoy looking at my paintings. I take joy in creating them. To me, every painting represents yet another challenge, with exciting difficulties to overcome.
I do accept commission for portraits and other subjects.
